Describe a test you passed You should say:
- What test it was
- Why you took it
- How you prepared for it
- And explain how you felt after passing it
One test that I passed recently was my driving licence test . I took it because I wanted to travel independently without depending on public transport.
To prepare for it, I studied the traffic rules carefully and practised driving every evening with my instructor. At first, I was nervous, especially about reverse parking, but gradually I gained confidence through regular practice.
On the day of the test, my hands were shaking a little, but as soon as I started, everything went smoothly. When the examiner announced that I had passed, I felt extremely relieved and proud. It felt like a small achievement that opened the door to a lot of freedom in my daily life.
IELTS SPEAKING PART 3 – FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS
- Do you think exams are the best way to assess students? Exams are useful, but not the best method for every learner. They mainly test memorisation, not creativity or practical skills.
- How have examinations changed over the years? Earlier, exams were mostly written, but now many institutions conduct online assessments, oral tests, and project-based evaluations.
- Do you think children feel too much pressure during exams? Yes, in many cases. Competition, parental expectations, and fear of failure often increase stress.
- What could schools do to reduce exam pressure? Schools can conduct more frequent low-stakes tests, teach stress-management skills, and focus on understanding instead of rote learning.
- Are practical tests more useful than written tests? For skill-based subjects, yes. Practical tests show real abilities, while written tests only reflect theoretical understanding.
