In the past, when students did a university degree, they tended to study in their own country. Nowadays, they have the opportunity to study abroad. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this development?
You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support you argument with example and relevant evidence.
Education plays crucial role in every student’s life. Few decades ago, pupils were interested doing their study in their own nation but today students have the chance to go to abroad for their higher education. This trend has both pros and cons which I am going to discuss in the upcoming paragraph.
To begin with, there are some advantages of going abroad for studies like students get the opportunity to explore the new country which increases their knowledge. They come to know about the culture and tradition of other nations. They also know the study pattern of foreign institutes.
In addition, students become independent, they learn the new skills and making decision by their own because there ye live far from their families and they have to face problems and solve them alone. They become more confident and responsible. They also have to do part time jobs which makes them financially independent. A survey report reveals that students who go to abroad, they become more confident and financially independent early as compared to the others.
On the flip side, staying away from their families proves to be a drawback as they miss their families, family functions and their culture. Sometimes students face language problem because English is a second language for the students who go from India so they face difficulty.
Moreover, students face financial crisis as it is not easy to survive in such countries. They face difficulty in getting a job and if they do not get, they may follow wrong path because in the absence of family, they have no one to guide them about the right and wrong. For example, from my personal experience, few days back my cousin brother who is living abroad went astray from his path as he was not getting job so he indulged himself in crime activities.
To sum up, going abroad for studies has both advantages and disadvantages. Students become independent, learn other cultures and become financially independent but on the other hand they face difficulties like feeling homesick, financial problems and language problem.
