Some people believe that the community service should be compulsory part of high school programs. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Community service is an unpaid work done by people for the betterment of society. A section of people believe that the community service should be mandatory part of the high school. I totally agree with this statement and the reasons I am going to discuss in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, learning community work is very helpful for students because they can learn many skills while doing social works. They get to know how to work in society and how to help people. They develop many moral values and social skills which help them become a responsible resident of the society.
In addition, it is also very beneficial for the society because there are endless works to do if one wants to bring change in the society so if students offer their hands to do work for the society then no pending work will remain pending and society will become a better place to live.
Last but not the least, If the community service is not made the part of schools then they remain unaware about their surroundings and they will not take interest in such activities which will limits their knowledge and they would not be able to learn how to tackle the problems. So it is very important for schools to make it compulsory. For example, many schools organize camps for students where they participate in solving different problems of the society which help them to builds their interest and get knowledge about issues.
In conclusion, community service should be compulsory in schools because students get to know about the problems of their community, they help in solving it which makes them responsible and society a better place to live.
