One place I visited where things were quite expensive was Dubai, particularly the Dubai Mall, which is one of the largest and most luxurious malls in the world.
The mall is located in the heart of Dubai, near the iconic Burj Khalifa. It is designed in a grand and extravagant style, with marble floors, sparkling lights, and a large aquarium inside. Almost every high-end brand, like Chanel, Prada, and Rolex, has a store there. Even the food courts and cafés are expensive compared to other places.
People go to the Dubai Mall not just to shop but also to enjoy the entertainment options. It has an indoor ice-skating rink, a VR park, and an aquarium that is home to exotic marine life. Outside the mall, the Dubai Fountain show is a major attraction, and tourists love to take photos there.
Things are expensive in this mall because it caters to a high-income crowd and offers premium brands and experiences. For example, a simple meal costs twice as much as in regular restaurants, and the attractions like the aquarium and ice rink have hefty ticket prices.
Although I didn’t buy much, I enjoyed visiting the mall for its unique experience. It was fascinating to see so many luxurious items and attractions in one place, but it also made me appreciate the value of affordability in other places I’ve been to.
