Sample Answer

A few months ago, I found myself in a situation where I had to tell a lie to help a friend financially. Although I don’t like lying, I felt it was necessary at the time. It was a weekend when my friend called me, explaining that they were in urgent need of money. They had to pay for an emergency, but they had no other means to gather the funds.

Despite their hesitation, I knew my friend wouldn’t ask anyone else for help. So, I decided to lie about having the money immediately. The truth was, I didn’t have enough money at that moment, but I knew I could borrow the amount from my father. Instead of being honest with my friend, I told them that I had the money saved up and could transfer it right away.

I immediately called my father to borrow the money and arranged to help my friend. Although I felt guilty for lying, I wanted to help my friend and didn’t want them to feel embarrassed. When I finally gave the money to my friend, they were very relieved and grateful.

However, after the situation was over, I felt conflicted. Although I had helped, I was uncomfortable with the lie I told. I wished I had been more honest from the beginning, but in the end, my friend appreciated the help.
