A lot of places in the world rely on tourism as a main source of income. Unfortunately, tourism can also be a source of problems if it is not managed correctly. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of tourism in the modern world. Do you think that benefits of tourism outweigh its drawbacks?
Tourism offers great opportunities for many countries to become economically strong. It is believed that travel is a major source of income for many nations around the world. Tourism will be a source of negative effects if it is handled improperly but will discuss both merits and demerits of tourism to reach my perception.
To begin with the advantages of tourism, it is believed that tourism has become a main source of income for range of places because tourism has become a big industry today and it gives job opportunity to thousands of individuals all around the world. It generates range of job opportunities such as people can open travel agencies, demand of means of transportation will increase if tourism takes place. For example, in Agra, people earn more money by taking tourist to see monuments by transports.
In addition to this, there will be great opportunity for nations to explore the tradition and culture of developed countries. Besides this, tourism also helps a nation to be economically strong. Since tourism took places, relation among different countries becomes good. For instance, India is well known among various nations for its tradition and culture because many western visitors come there to know about India’s heritage.
Alternatively, there can be some problems if tourism is not managed properly. If government does not provide good infrastructure such as hotels, restaurants, rest places etcetera for visitors so there will be lots of negative effects of it. like, if government does not provide facilities to tourist, the visitors will face problems. Lack of hotels, transportation will burden the places and there will be mismanagement in everything. If the property of tourist places is not protected, the visitor will spoil their beauty and ruin their importance. For example, Paris has great places for tourism and government has proper rules and regulations for the visitors.
Finally, I believe that tourism has both pros and cons but its benefits outweigh drawbacks since it provides range of job, good opportunity and to explore any nation tradition culture etcetera but It is lucrative if it is managed well.
