The stolen horse
Once upon a time, there was a tired traveler who had been riding his horse all day long. He came across a nice bunch of trees and decided to take a break. After letting his horse munch on some grass, he took a nap under the shade of a tree.
After a few hours, he woke up and, uh-oh, his horse was nowhere to be found! He looked around the trees but couldn’t spot his four-legged buddy. Then, he noticed a sturdy stick on the ground and figured someone must’ve swiped his horse. So, he grabbed the stick and headed to the nearby village.
In the village market, he raised the stick and hollered, “Hey, who took my horse? Whoever did it better give it back, or things are gonna get interesting, just like last time!”
The thief, scared out of their wits, brought the horse back and whispered, “What did you do last time your horse got swiped?”
The traveler grinned and spilled the beans, “Oh, I just bought a new horse from the city.”
