The Clever Barber
Once, there was a barber who traveled to different villages to cut people’s hair. One day, he had to cross a forest full of wild animals to reach the next village. The barber was scared of the animals, and his fears came true when a fierce lion appeared in front of him.
Thinking he was in big trouble, the clever barber decided to be brave. He went up to the lion and said, “Thank goodness I found you! I’ve been searching all over for you since morning. Catching the first lion was easy, but finding the second one was tiring.”
The lion was surprised and asked, “Why were you looking for me?”
The barber confidently replied, “The king asked me to catch two lions for him. I’ve already caught one, and now I’ve found you. You’re the next one.”
The lion, not expecting this, said, “Catching a lion is not easy. You’re lying. Show me the lion you’ve caught.”
The clever barber took out a mirror from his bag and placed it in front of the lion’s face. The lion saw its reflection and thought it was another lion.
Terrified, the lion didn’t stay a moment longer. It ran away to save itself. The smart barber continued on his way without any trouble.
